Borderline Personality Disorder Does Not Discriminate

Hi ,

How's it going?

Did you know that borderline
personality disorder does not
discriminate?

It doesn't care if you're black, white,
or purple.

It doesn't care if you're young, old or
in-between.

It doesn't care if you're male or
female (although 75% are female,
both can have it).

It doesn't care if you're married or
single.

It doesn't care if you're blonde,
brunette, or redheaded.

It doesn't care if you're Catholic, Jewish,
Buddhist, Muslim, Traditional Chinese,
or whatever spiritual belief you adhere
to - or even if you're agnostic or atheist!

It doesn't care if you're rich or poor.

It doesn't care if you graduated from high
school or not, or if you have a thousand
college degrees.

It doesn't care what you wear, what your
shoe size is...

What your favorite color is..

What type of ice cream you like...

What type of movies you watch..

Or anything else about you.

BORDERLINE PERSONALITY
DISORDER DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE!

Borderline personality disorder is a
mental illness.

And mental illnesses do not discriminate.

In my main course and resource below, I talk
about how you have to separate your loved
one from their borderline personality disorder,
because borderline personality disorder is a
mental illness, and it's not their fault that they
have it.

Think of it this way:

If you were to consider any other illness
like diabetes, asthma, heart disease, or
even cancer, would you think it were
the person's fault that they had it?

Those illnesses don't discriminate,
either!

What I'm getting at is to think of
borderline personality disorder as
something OUTSIDE your loved one.

I know it's difficult, but think of it as
something that isn't your loved one's fault.

Believe it or not, they may already be
thinking that it is. Their fault, I mean.

That's one of the characteristics of the disorder.

That the person with borderline personality
disorder struggles with their identity and
self-esteem, and that they feel that they're
bad, and/or that there is something
fundamentally wrong with them deep
down inside themselves.

How would you like to feel like that?
Horrible, huh?

I'm not defending their sometimes really
bad acting out behavior towards you.
I'm just saying that maybe this might help
you to understand where at least some
of it is coming from.

They have this deep inner pain, and
sometimes it gets released in bad ways.

Unfortunately, it usually gets released
on the person closest to them, and that
person is usually you.

But by remembering that borderline
personality disorder is not their fault -
in other words - that the disorder does
not discriminate - it might help you to
understand at least some of your loved
one's behavior a little better.

Your Friend,

Dave
